Cedar Rapids police charge teen in shots fired investigation

CEDAR RAPIDS - A teenager has been charged in connection with a shots fired incident late Wednesday morning.
Cedar Rapids police officers responded to the 1000 block of 10th Street SE at 11:30 a.m. for a report of four to five shots fired in the alley. Approximately two minutes after the call, responding officers found three juveniles in the 800 block of 15th Street SE who matched the description of the suspects.
Police arrested one of the suspects, a 17-year-old, and charged him for the shooting. Officers determined a 9 mm handgun found in the teen's waistband was stolen. The juvenile faces charges of carrying weapons, reckless use of a firearm and third-degree theft.
