Dec. 23, 2014 8:34 am
CEDAR FALLS — The Cedar Falls Police Department deployed their tactical team to arrest a man who was making threats while armed with a knife.
Officers were dispatched to 5501 University Ave. at 1:16 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a man threatening another man with a knife. The alleged victim told police 45-year-old Donald L. Cary, who lives at 5501 University Ave., had threatened to kill him with a knife. Another person was also threatened by Cary, police said.
The victims told police that Cary had gone back into his residence, but when police tried to contact him, he did not answer.
The department activated its Major Incident Response Team, which made entry into the residence and took Cary into custody without incident at 4:35 a.m.
Cary was arrested and faces charges of assault while displaying a dangerous weapon and first-degree harassment, both aggravated misdemeanors. He remains in custody at the Black Hawk County Jail.
