Two high school students in Linn County, Lia Scharnau of Linn-Mar High School and Joseph Olesen of Kennedy High School, have won this year’s State Good Citizens Award at the recent Iowa Daughter of the American Revolution. One female and one male student are recognized each year, and this is the first time the state winners are both from this area.
