As he prepares to retire at the end of the month after nearly 30 years of service to the community, Les Garner, Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation president and CEO, considers his ultimate impact to be “the extent to which I have enabled those people to be better at what they do.”
Camp Courageous will feature over 400 show and vintage vehicles, motorcyles and trucks on display at its 36th annual car show on Sunday. The event also will have food, music, crafts, zip line and train rides and a silent and live auction.
This year is a special one for the free annual community festival held at Centennial Park as it celebrates 15 years of blues-inspired live music, barbecue, craft beer and family-friendly activities. Last year’s event attracted 20,000 people.
