The Iowa High School Athletic Association released boys’ basketball rankings Monday. 38 of the 40 teams in last week’s poll remain this week, with some changing of positions.

The Iowa High School Athletic Association’s latest boys’ basketball rankings were released Monday. Four of the eight schools in the Metro are in the top 10 of their respective classes, including three in Class 4A.

Tess Richards has persevered injury and illness the last two seasons. She was determined to compete in this year’s postseason and claimed the 115-pound title Friday at the Class 1A girls’ wrestling regional at Solon.

Clear Lake took over the top spot in Class 3A in the latest Iowa High School Athletic Association boys’ basketball rankings, released Monday. The other No. 1s remain the same: Cedar Falls in 4A, Western Christian in 2A and Bellevue Marquette in 1A.

Despite being defending state champion, advancing to a state championship game seven years in a row and having one of the top players in the state in his class (Mason Bechen), North Linn was left out of the first couple of the Iowa High School Athletic Association’s Class 1A poll after a 20-point loss to Dunkerton a couple of weeks ago. The Lynx are back in this week for the first time this season at No. 10. All of the No. 1s remain the same in Cedar Falls, Huxley Ballard, Western Christian and Bellevue Marquette.

Cedar Falls remained atop Class 4A in the second Iowa High School Athletic Association boys’ basketball rankings of the season. Huxley Ballard (3A), Western Christian (2A) and Bellevue Marquette (1A) stay at No. 1 in their respective classes, as well.

Here is a list of 20 wrestlers and nine teams to keep an eye on for the 2024-25 boys’ wrestling season.
