Iowa City High was the preseason No. 1 in the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association Class 4A rankings. The Little Hawks closed the regular season at No. 4. They are joined by No. 6 Iowa City Liberty in the final poll released Monday.

Iowa City Regina has had a solid season under first-year Regals head coach Mark Roering. Regina is No. 8 in the final Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association Class 2A rankings released Monday.

Carson Nolan was down to his final strike and stayed alive by fouling off three straight pitches before belting a three-run triple in the top of the seventh. He helped Benton Community beat host Mount Vernon, 4-3 , Thursday night.

North Linn has won 13 straight games and remains a staple in the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association Class 1A rankings. The Lynx are 17-2 and ranked No. 7, entering Week 6 of the season.

Marion’s Austin Goodrich produced a game-winning hit for a 4-3 victory in Game 1. He worked two perfect innings of relief in the 5-3 win in Game 2, sweeping Benton Community Monday at Les Hipple Athletic Complex.

Iowa City High started the season as the preseason No. 1. The Little Hawks faced a tough early schedule that dropped them to No. 5. This week, they climbed two spots to third in Class 4A.
