Iowa high school girls’ basketball 2018 regional pairings: 4A, 5A

Merry early Christmas, girls' basketball fans.
The IGHSAU released regional pairings for Classes 4A and 5A Wednesday, a day ahead of schedule.
Regional play tips off in the large-school classes with quarterfinals on Wednesday, Feb. 14. Regional finals are Tuesday, Feb. 20. Winners advance to the state tournament at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, which runs Feb. 26-March 3.
In 4A, top-ranked Marion will host the winner of Waterloo East (5-14) and Independence (1-18) in a Region 4 semifinal on Saturday, Feb. 17. Clear Creek Amana (9-7) is the favorite on the other side.
5A No. 1 Iowa City High draws the winner of Muscatine (7-11) and Burlington (5-13) in a Region 3 semifinal, with No. 14 Bettendorf (14-4) and Davenport Central (2-16) on the bottom half.
Regional Pairings
Regional pairings for the smaller three classes were released last week.
