Iowa boys' state basketball 2019: Friday's championship scores, stats, highlights and more

Four champions were crowned on the final day of the 2019 Iowa high school boys' state basketball tournament.

Grand View Christian, North Linn, Oskaloosa and Cedar Falls left Wells Fargo Arena with the hardware every team covets.

Friday's state tournament scores

CLASS 1A CHAMPIONSHIP

No. 1 Grand View Christian 43, Alburnett 24

Grand View Christian (26-1) held Alburnett to the lowest point total in a state championship game since Sioux City Central's 42-23 loss to Davenport in 1947.

The Pirates (20-6) shot 24.2 percent, including 1 of 12 in the first half, as they tried to run clock against the bigger, more athletic thunder. GVC, which won its third straight title, led 14-6 at halftime.

Harouna Sissoko had 10 points for Grand View, Issa Samake nine and 11 rebounds. Hunter Caves was Alburnett's leading scorer with eight.

CLASS 2A CHAMPIONSHIP

No. 1 North Linn 60, No. 8 Boyden-Hull 41

North Linn capped a 26-0 season with its first state basketball championship, a year after finishing runner-up in Class 2A.

The Lynx outscored the Comets 18-4 in the third quarter after leading 21-20 at the break and never looked back. Jake Hilmer led the way with 20 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and four steals. He was 10 of 11 at the free throw line. Trevor Boge added 17 points, drilling all three of his 3-point attempts.

Boyden-Hull (24-3) was led by Spencer Te Slaa with 10 points.

CLASS 3A CHAMPIONSHIP

No. 6 Oskaloosa 48, No. 7 Norwalk 44

Cole Henry put up 19 points and 14 rebounds and Oskaloosa (19-5) took home the 3A title a year after finishing second.

Xavier Foster added 12 points, nine boards and three blocks for the Indians, who never trailed in the fourth quarter of this all-Little Hawkeye Conference final.

Bowen Born scored a game-high 26 points on 10-of-26 shooting for Norwalk (22-5).

CLASS 4A CHAMPIONSHIP

No. 7 Cedar Falls 44, No. 6 Dubuque Senior 41

The Tigers (21-3) repeated as Class 4A state champions with a win over an Mississippi Valley Conference foe.

Logan Wolf scored a game-high 15 points and broke a 41-41 tie by making 1 of 2 free throws with 16 seconds remaining. Jackson Frericks blocked a Noah Carter shot at the other end and Cedar Falls held on.

Carter led the Rams (19-4) with 12 points and seven rebounds.

CLASS 3A CONSOLATION

Winterset 67, No. 3 Clear Lake 49

Easton Darling scored 24 points to lead the Huskies (18-7) to third place. Casey Kleemeier and Casey Young added 14 apiece.

Drew Enke had 13 points for Clear Lake (24-2). The Lions had 27 turnovers.

CLASS 4A CONSOLATION

No. 4 Waukee 66, No. 2 North Scott 57

Waukee made 14 of 25 3-point shots to take third in Class 4A. Dante Jenkins was 5 of 6 from distance and scored a team-high 19 points.

Ty Anderson led the Lancers (23-3) with 22 on 8-of-10 shooting.
