Iowa high school softball 2025: 16 area players to watch

Here are 16 Gazette-area players to watch for the 2024 Iowa high school softball season.

Mackenzie Bridgewater, sr., North Linn — Batted .457 with 50 runs scored and 27 batted in. Stole 44 bases in 47 attempts. Class 1A first-team all-state.

Braylen Conlon, sr., Cedar Rapids Xavier — Posted a 23-7 record with a 1.06 ERA. Struck out 323 and walked 90 in 179 innings. Batted .471 with 19 doubles and 6 home runs, scoring 34 runs and driving in 34. Class 4A first-team all-state.

Rachel Eglseder, jr., Edgewood-Colesburg — Posted a 19-7 record with a 1.52 ERA. Struck out 253 and walked 52 in 170 2/3 innings. Batted .406 with 11 doubles and 4 triples, driving in 32. Class 1A first-team all-state.

Ana Glawe, sr., Benton Community — Batted .471 with 11 doubles and 13 home runs. Drove in 65 runs and scored 20. Class 3A first-team all-state.

Tatum Goerdt, sr., Cedar Rapids Prairie — Posted a 16-14 pitching record with a 2.05 ERA. Struck out 166 and walked 74 in 184 innings. Batted .381 with 18 RBIs. Class 5A second-team all-state.

Hayden Gookin, soph., Mount Vernon — Posted a 21-6 pitching record with a 0.74 ERA. Struck out 247 and walked 26 in 171 1/3 innings. Batted .446 with 14 doubles, 10 home runs and 32 RBIs. Class 3A first-team all-state.

Pearson Hall, sr., West Liberty — Batted .444 with 8 runs and 9 RBIs. Class 3A first-team all-state.

Lianna Hull, sr., Iowa City High — Batted .489 with 10 doubles. Scored 30 runs. Class 5A second-team all-state.

Piper Johnson, jr., Cedar Rapids Prairie — Batted .366 and scored 42 runs. Stole 15 bases in 17 attempts. Class 5A second-team all-state.

Lily Knutson, jr., Cedar Rapids Kennedy — Posted a 15-6 pitching record with a 2.33 ERA. Struck out 186 and walked 52 in 135 innings. Batted .425 with 19 doubles, 5 home runs and 30 RBIs. Class 5A first-team all-state.

Emily Koranda, sr., Linn-Mar — Did not play (injured). Class 5A first-team all-state in 2023.

Ingrid Landa, jr., Alburnett — Posted a 14-2 pitching record with a 2.54 ERA. Struck out 131 and walked 60 in 99 1/3 innings. Batted .321. Class 2A first-team all-state.

Jersey Metz, jr., Williamsburg — Posted a 24-6 pitching record with a 2.82 ERA. Struck out 113 and walked 57 in 178 2/3 innings. Batted .274 with 27 RBIs. Class 3A first-team all-state.

Josephine Moore, sr., Sigourney — Batted .396 with 9 doubles and 11 home runs. Drove in 40 runs and scored 30. Posted a 2-4 pitching record. Class 1A first-team all-state.

Katie Pilcher, sr., Cedar Rapids Xavier — Batted .457 with 11 doubles, 10 home runs and a team-high 42 RBIs. Class 4A first-team all-state.

Kyla Schulte, jr., Clear Creek Amana — Batted .439 with 17 doubles. Scored 30 runs and drove in 59. Posted a 2-5 pitching record with a 4.42 ERA. Class 4A second-team all-state.
