NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa - Police said they discovered meth in a North Liberty man's residence earlier this month.
On April 2, North Liberty police served a search warrant at 13 Holiday Lodge Road, the home of 38-year-old William D. Baldwin. During a search of Baldwin's residence, officers located several grams of meth, marijuana, a digital scale, packaging materials and cash.
Baldwin allegedly admitted to selling marijuana, but denied selling meth. However, text messages on his phone appeared to show people making arrangements to buy meth from Baldwin.
Police said they also found a .223 caliber rifle in Baldwin's closet. A 2004 conviction for domestic assault prohibits Baldwin from owning a firearm.
Baldwin was arrested this week and faces charges of controlled substance violation, a Class C felony; and illegal possession of a firearm, a Class D felony.
