Top boys’ track and field area teams and individuals to watch for the 2024 season:

Iowa City West — 5th in Class 4A, 62 points, 45.75 return.

Lisbon — Class 1A champion, 60 points, 33.5 return.

Solon — 9th in Class 3A, 25 points, 8.75 return.

Western Dubuque — Class 3A runner-up, 63 points, 38.25 return.

Williamsburg — Class 2A state co-champion, 62 points, 35 points.

Tiernan Boots, jr., Lisbon — Class 1A champion in the 400 relay, 2nd in the 800 relay, 5th in the 100.

Austin Hogrefe, sr., Western Dubuque — 2nd in the Class 3A shuttle hurdle relay, 6th in 400 hurdles, 8th in 110 hurdles.

Aidan Jacobsen, sr., Iowa City West — Class 4A champion in the shuttle hurdle relay and 800 relay, 2nd in the 400 hurdles.

Izaiah Loveless, sr., Iowa City West — Member of the 4A-champion distance medley relay, 400 relay and 800 relay, 2nd in the 200.

Lance McShane, sr., Maquoketa Valley — 5th in the 1A 400-meter hurdles, 8th in the 400.

Quentin Nauman, soph., Western Dubuque — 2nd in the 3A 3,200 relay, 3rd in the 800 and distance medley relay.
