Cedar Rapids man charged with robbery, burglary, false imprisonment

CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids man faces robbery, burglary and false imprisonment charges.
According to a Linn County Attorney's Office criminal complaint, on Dec. 29, 46-year-old Ernest B. Callaway and an unidentified accomplice forced their way into a residence on A Avenue SW. Once inside, Callaway and his accomplice tied the victim up with duct tape and placed a blanket over his head.
Callaway and the accomplice then stole money, a cellphone and other property before stealing the victim's truck, according to court documents.
Authorities said Callaway's fingerprints were found on the duct tape used to bind the victim.
Callaway admitted to the burglary and robbery during police questioning, according to the criminal complaint. He has been charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree robbery and false imprisonment.
