IOWA CITY - Police are investigating the deaths of two people in southeast Iowa City.
Officers found two bodies - a man and a woman - inside a home in the 100 block of Aniston Street around 8:35 p.m. Tuesday, according to a news release.
The home on 86 Aniston St. was blocked off by police tape Wednesday afternoon. Johnson County Attorney Janet Lyness was outside the home.
The police log shows police were asked to do a welfare check at 6:13 p.m. Tuesday but were unable to find the person named in the request.
Authorities returned to the residence at 8:35 p.m.
Authorities said the deaths of the two people - who were not identified - are considered suspicious and are being investigated.
