North English man allegedly set neighbor’s car on fire

NORTH ENGLISH - A North English man is accused of setting his neighbor's car on fire.

According to the Iowa County Sheriff's Office, around 9:20 p.m. Sunday, 27-year-old Brad Stewart set a 1996 Honda Accord on fire. Police said the vehicle belonged to Stewart's neighbor at an apartment complex in North English.

The fire was witnessed by a neighbor who called 911. The North English Fire Department and Iowa County Sheriff's Office responded to the blaze, which did approximately $1,000 worth of damage to the car.

On Tuesday, the sheriff's office arrested Stewart on one count of second-degree arson, a Class C felony. Class C felonies are punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Stewart remains in custody on a $10,000 cash-only bond.
