Marion man charged with robbery

MARION - A Marion man is accused of robbing a woman with a sharp object.

According to the Linn County attorney's Office, on Thursday, 36-year-old Quartez A.L. Watson robbed a woman of cash by pushing a sharp object - believed to be a knife - to her side. The robbery is alleged to have occurred at 1485 Meadowview Drive, where Watson resides.

Authorities said video from the area corroborated the victim's allegations. Watson was arrested at his residence and has been charged with first-degree robbery, a Class B felony. Additionally, authorities said Watson - a registered sex offender - was not living at the address he had registered with the sheriff's office as he is required to do. For that offense, Watson was also charged with a violation of the sex offender registry.
