IOWA CITY - An Iowa City man is accused of punching his 2-year-old son, sending the boy to the hospital.
According to an Iowa City police criminal complaint, officers responded to 2214 Muscatine Ave. at noon on Oct. 21 for a report of a father punching his 2-year-old child in the chest. A witness told police the boy was not doing what he was told and the father, 21-year-old Tyshaun D. Harris, was yelling at him.
Police said when the boy started to cry, Harris screamed at him and punched him in the chest with a closed fist. The child suffered a 'fist-shaped” bruise on his rib cage and was taken to the hospital via ambulance, police said.
