CEDAR RAPIDS — A Cedar Rapids man is accused of robbing another man Thursday afternoon.
According to Cedar Rapids public safety spokesman Greg Buelow and a Linn County Attorney's Office criminal complaint, a security officer at the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art was doing a check on the exterior of the building around 1 p.m. Thursday when the officer witnessed a subject, later identified as 18-year-old David Bryant, assaulting another man in the 800 block of Third Street SE. Police said Bryant appeared to be taking something from the victim's pocket. Bryant also made off with the victim's coat, police said.
Police said the security officer tended to the victim, who suffered minor injuries during the assault. The security officer also contacted the police department and provided a detailed description of the suspect. Police were able to locate Bryant, who was arrested and has been charged with second-degree robbery.
