Dec. 5, 2014 8:21 am
CEDAR RAPIDS - The U.S. Marshals arrested a man wanted in connection with a September shooting in Cedar Rapids.
Elijah Morse, 19, was captured Thursday night in Cedar Rapids. The marshals were aided by the Linn County Sheriff's Office, Cedar Rapids Police Department and the High Risk Unit of the Sixth Judicial District. Morse had been wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred on Sept. 22.
Cedar Rapids police responded to 411 15th St. SE around noon that day for a report of shots fired. Police said the residence at that address was hit, but no one was injured. According to the Marshals Service, they were requested to apprehend Morse after the shooting.
The marshal's search led them to a residence around the 400 block of 16th St. SE. Police said Morse attempted to flee the residence, but he was captured and taken into custody.
Morse was wanted on charges of intimidation with a dangerous weapon and going armed with intent, but will face additional charges related to Thursday's arrest, according to the marshals.
