Cedar Rapids woman arrested after break-in, stealing vehicle

CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids woman faces up to 20 years in prison for kicking in a door during a fight and stealing a vehicle.
According to the Linn County Attorney's Office, police were called to a residence in the 1100 block of Ninth Street SE on Aug. 29 for a report of a disturbance. There, officers learned that 32-year-old Kevetta J. McPhan had kicked in the door to the residence during a fight. McPhan had fled the scene.
McPhan was found later and was driving a stolen vehicle. She also gave police a fake name and date of birth. She was arrested and faces charges of first-degree burglary and first-degree theft, both Class C felonies punishable by 10 years in prison; and providing false identification information, a simple misdemeanor.
