Cedar Rapids woman arrested after Jimmy Johns robbery

MARION - A Cedar Rapids woman is accused of robbing a Jimmy Johns in Marion.
According to Marion police and a Linn County Sheriff's Office criminal complaint, police responded to Jimmy Johns around 8:07 p.m. Monday for a report of a robbery. Authorities said the suspect, later identified as 21-year-old Mary Ellen Nelson, entered the restaurant and passed a note that read, 'Give me the money and no one will get hurt.” Police said Nelson left the restaurant with cash. No one was injured during the incident.
Police tracked Nelson down to the Budget Inn in Cedar Rapids. Police said Nelson initially gave officers a fake name, but later admitted to committing the robbery.
Nelson was arrested and faces charges of second-degree robbery and providing false identification information.
