Iowa City man arrested for Facebook threat against police

IOWA CITY - An Iowa City man is accused of making online threats to kill police officers.

According to an Iowa City police criminal complaint, at noon on May 1, a man posting under the name 'Mike Jones” on Facebook made threats toward police.

Police said the post read, 'I've thought about shooting every white cop I see in the head until I'm either caught by the police or kill them. Ha!!!! I think I can pull it off. Might kill at least fifteen tomorrow. I'm plotting now.”

Police said based on videos and photographs on the Facebook page, Mike Jones is actually 30-year-old Michael L. McCullum.

McCullum has been arrested and faces one count of first-degree harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by up to two years in jail.
