Two face robbery charges after shoplifting, pepper spray incident at Cedar Rapids store

CEDAR RAPIDS - Two Cedar Rapids residents face robbery charges after a shoplifting incident Thursday evening.
Cedar Rapids police said around 5 p.m. Thursday, 23-year-old Ryan D. Mangold and 31-year-old Tina J. Corley were at Gordmans, 4601 First Ave SE. Police said the two attempted to steal merchandise from the store and were confronted by a loss prevention employee.
The employee, Mangold and Corley got into a fight outside of the store. Police said Mangold tore the employee's shirt and Corley used pepper spray on the employee. They then fled in a vehicle.
Police obtained a description of the vehicle and caught Mangold and Corley a short time later.
Mangold faces two counts of second-degree robbery and two counts of fourth-degree theft. Corley faces one count each of second-degree robbery and fourth-degree theft.
