No one hurt in Fairfield chase, officer-involved shooting

FAIRFIELD - No one was injured during a chase and officer-involved shooting that started early Tuesday in Fairfield.
According to the Iowa Department of Public Safety, Fairfield police attempted to stop a vehicle around 1 a.m. Tuesday near 12th Street and Jefferson Avenue in Fairfield. Police said the driver refused to stop and led police on a chase that ended south of Birmingham in Van Buren County.
Police said the Fairfield officers discharged their weapons at some point during the incident, but no one was injured.
The investigation is ongoing, and the names of officers and subjects involved are not being released.
