Six detained in Vinton drug investigation, but no one charged

VINTON - Six people, including three juveniles, were detained briefly on Saturday as part of a drug-related investigation in Vinton.
According to a news release from the Vinton Police Department, officers from area law enforcement agencies served a search warrant at 1607 W. First St., Apt. 1 around 6:40 a.m. Saturday. The warrant was served as a part of an ongoing investigation into the alleged use and sale of illegal drugs.
Six individuals who were inside the residence at the time were detained while the warrant was served. Three of those individuals were under the age of 18 and released to their parents, police said. The other three were also released.
No charges have been filed in the ongoing investigation. Vinton Police Chief Ted Paxton could not be reached for comment Monday.
