A drunken Nebraska man is accused of threatening to cut the head off a bar employee.
Iowa City police officers responded to TCB, 114 E. College St., at 1:04 a.m. Thursday for a report of a man who was harassing staff and refusing to leave the bar. Police said when bar staff attempted to escort the man, Daniel J. Simmons, 25, of Papillion, Neb. from the bar, he pulled out a pocket knife and threatened to cut the employee's head off.
Simmons walked out of the bar and was later encountered by officers. He was positively identified by TCB staff. Simmons was arrested and faces charges of assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, trespass, disorderly conduct, obstructing emergency communications and public intoxication.
