IOWA CITY - An Iowa City woman faces 25 years in prison for allegedly manufacturing meth in her home.
According to criminal complaints, members of the Johnson County Drug Task Force served a search warrant at 1257 Slothower Ave. in Iowa City on April 7 of this year. Police said the residence belongs to 32-year-old Bobbie M. English.
Police said during a search of the residence, investigators found evidence of one pot-style meth lab, as well as various meth precursors. English took responsibility of manufacturing meth in her residence, police said.
English now faces one count of controlled substance violation, a Class B felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
Police charged English with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance precursor earlier this year. Iowa City police were called to her home on May 16 for a welfare check on 38-year-old Troy L. Barkalow after the person who requested the check heard him fighting with English. The caller was concerned Barkalow had been using meth, police said.
Responding officers said both English and Barkalow appeared to be under the influence of meth. A search of the property turned up meth precursors and a small quantity of meth.
