According to Coralville police, officers responded to 401 Sixth Avenue at 4:21 a.m. Aug. 10 for a report of a man that had been run over by a car. Police said the victim suffered a broken bone in his lower right leg.
The victim told police that while he was in a parking lot, the driver of another vehicle - later identified as 21-year-old Misael Martinez-Mendiola - backed over him. Martinez-Mendiola sped off without stopping to check on the victim or providing any information.
