Cedar Rapids man faces burglary, willful injury charges

CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids man is accused of breaking into a home and assaulting a woman and her son.
According to a Linn County Attorney's Office criminal complaint, on Nov. 7, 24-year-old James M. Kummerfeldt broke into a 12th Street SE residence and assaulted a woman and her son. The woman suffered an unspecified injury and her son suffered a fractured nose and jaw and a laceration to his kidney, according to the county attorney's office.
Kummerfeldt was arrested and faces charges of first-degree burglary and willful injury causing serious injury.
