Stolen items found in Iowa City woman’s apartment

IOWA CITY - An Iowa City woman faces numerous theft charges after police found numerous items reported stolen from Iowa City and Cedar Rapids homes in her residence.
According to Iowa City police criminal complaints, officers served a search warrant at 920 E. Burlington St, Apt. 7 on Dec. 11. Police said the apartment is occupied by 23-year-old Brittany D. Tinkle.
Police found multiple items in Tinkle's apartment, including two laptops, an iPod, a PlayStation 3 gaming system, speakers and a zip drive. All of the items were reported missing by burglary victims from Iowa City and Cedar Rapids, police said. The burglaries occurred between May 2014 and November 2014.
As a result of their investigation, police charged Tinkle with two counts of second-degree theft, a Class D felony; two counts of third-degree theft, an aggravated misdemeanor; two counts of fourth-degree theft, a serious misdemeanor and one count of fifth-degree theft, a simple misdemeanor.
Tinkle remains in custody on a $17,000 cash or surety bond.
