CEDAR RAPIDS - Child pornography was discovered on a Cedar Rapids man's phone after he got it repaired, police said.
According to the Linn County Attorney's Office, on July 3, 2015, Cedar Rapids police were called to Batteries and Bulbs. Authorities said employees who were attempting to fix a cellphone belonging to 33-year-old Jeremy R. Rodriguez inadvertently found images of child pornography on the device.
Officers asked Rodriguez about the images on his phone when he arrived to pick it up and he admitted to obtaining the materials. Rodriguez has been arrested on a warrant and has been charged with one count of sexual exploitation of a minor, a Class D felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
