Linn County Jail inmate found with cocaine and marijuana

CEDAR RAPIDS — A Linn County Jail inmate was found to be in possession of cocaine and marijuana.
According to the Linn County attorney's and sheriff's offices, 26-year-old Antonio L. Buchanan was booked at the jail on Thursday for a violation of a no contact order. Sheriff Brian Gardner said that offense would not trigger a strip-search.
However, after receiving a tip from an inmate, jail deputies performed a strip search on Buchanan. Deputies found 17 baggies of cocaine and two baggies of marijuana on Buchanan, authorities said.
Buchanan has been charged with one count of possession of contraband in a correctional facility.
