CEDAR RAPIDS - A Minnesota man is accused of trying to bribe his way out of an arrest.
Around 9:52 p.m. Monday, Cedar Rapids police officers pulled over 36-year-old Anthony W. Ziolkowski, of White Bear Lake, Minn., for erratic driving. Police said Ziolkowski appeared to be intoxicated.
A breath test at the Linn County Jail showed Ziolkowski's blood alcohol content to be at .088 percent, just over the .08 percent threshold to legally operate a motor vehicle in Iowa. Police said Ziolkowski also had marijuana and drug paraphernalia on him.
Ziolkowski offered an officer money to get out of being arrested, but that offer was declined, according to court documents. He has been charged with bribery, drunken driving, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
