Cedar Rapids man faces forgery charges for passing bogus bills

CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids man is accused of passing dozens of fake $20 bills.
According to the Linn County Attorney's Office, on May 8, 18-year-old Elijah J. Allen passed 59 counterfeit $20 bills at Walmart. Authorities said Allen used the bogus cash to buy electronic equipment, which he returned to a different store for a cash refund.
Allen has been arrested and charged with two counts of forgery.
