CEDAR RAPIDS - One person was injured in a three-vehicle crash Tuesday morning.
Cedar Rapids public safety spokesman Greg Buelow said 19-year-old Elizabeth Nshimirimana was northbound on Sixth Street around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday when she ran a red light at the intersection with First Avenue West. Police said Nshimirimana hit an eastbound pickup on First Avenue. The truck flipped and landed partially on top of a minivan that was waiting to make a left turn onto Sixth Street.
Buelow said Nshimirimana had three passengers in her vehicle and one of them - a 16-year-old girl - suffered minor injuries. She was taken to St. Luke's Hospital for treatment.
No one else was injured in the crash.
Nshimirimana was cited for failure to obey a traffic signal and violation of a restricted license.
