Mount Auburn couple killed in Benton County crash

VINTON — A Mount Auburn couple was killed in a crash east of Vinton on Wednesday morning.
The names of the people killed in the crash have not been released.
According to the Benton County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the crash on 61st Street Lane, east of Vinton, at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday. An investigation shows the couple was in a sport utility vehicle, driving west on 61st Street Lane, when the driver crossed the centerline and hit an oncoming pickup head-on.
The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. His wife died on the way to a hospital, authorities said.
The crash remains under investigation.
