One in custody after Cedar Rapids shots fired investigation

CEDAR RAPIDS - One person is in custody after a report of shots fired.
Cedar Rapids public safety spokesman Greg Buelow said police responded to shots fired in the 1400 block of Sixth Avenue SE at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday. Officers were a block away investigating a possible burglary when they heard the shots, Buelow said.
Responding officers had a short foot chase with some individuals in the area and have one person in custody. A handgun was also recovered.
Buelow said the case remains under investigation as officers work to determine who was involved with the incident.
