CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids man wanted in connection with an incident last year was arrested Saturday in New Mexico.
According to the U.S. Marshals Service, 18-year-old Jalen T. Jackson was wanted on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor and invasion of privacy. A warrant for his arrest was issued Jan. 21.
The marshals service worked with Cedar Rapids police after officials determined Jackson might have left Iowa. The Northern Iowa Fugitive Task Force learned Jackson had left Iowa and was staying in southwestern New Mexico.
THE U.S. Marshals Service in Las Cruces, New Mexico worked with the Grant County (N.M.) Sheriff's Office to locate Jackson outside of Mimbres, New Mexico. On Saturday afternoon, he was spotted leaving a residence and taken into custody.
Jackson was taken to the Grant County Detention Center in Silver City, New Mexico, where he awaits extradition to Iowa.
