May. 6, 2016 1:04 pm
CEDAR RAPIDS - At least one person was arrested and more arrests could be coming after a brawl in the Jefferson High School parking lot.
Cedar Rapids public safety spokesman Greg Buelow said the School Resource Officer at Jefferson High School was notified of a disturbance in the Physical Education parking lot shortly after 9 a.m. Friday. Authorities also received calls of a disturbance in the parking lot.
Police responded and determined a fight occurred between five individuals. Buelow said police believe both adults and children were involved in the scrum, but they don't yet know everyone's relationship to the fight. One person was injured in the melee and treated on scene by emergency responders.
The scrap appeared to be over a relationshp issue, Buelow said.
As a result of their investigation, police arrested 18-year-old Bryan Tryon for disorderly conduct. Buelow said more combatants could be charged.
The school temporarily secured their exterior doors while police responded to the incident.
