Pedestrian severely injured when hit by car on Wiley Boulevard

CEDAR RAPIDS - A man was hospitalized with serious injuries Wednesday night after he was hit by a car.
Cedar Rapids public safety spokesman Greg Buelow said the 47-year-old man - who is not being identified - was walking eastbound on Wilson Avenue SW around 9:39 p.m. Wednesday. The man was hit by a southbound vehicle on Wiley Boulevard SW.
The pedestrian was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. The driver of the car was not injured, Buelow said.
The collision remains under investigation, and no decision on charges has been made.
