One dead in Washington County fire

AINSWORTH - A Washington County man was killed in a fire Thursday afternoon.
According to a news release, the Washington County Communications Center received a report of a possible house fire at 2845 230th St. in Ainsworth at 1:50 p.m. Thursday.
Crews from the Ainsworth, Washington and Riverside fire departments, along with the Ainsworth First Responders, Washington County Ambulance and Washington County Sheriff's Office responded to the fire. The State Fire Marshal's Office was also called in to assist with the investigation.
Authorities said 69-year-old Charles A. Darby was found dead inside the home.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
