Coralville man faces robbery charge

IOWA CITY - A Coralville man is accused of threatening another man with a knife and robbing him of $100.
According to an Iowa City police criminal complaint, on March 25, 18-year-old Alexander R. Regennitter was freestyle rapping with the alleged victim in the victim's Burlington Street apartment. The victim told police that Regennitter suddenly attacked him and punched him multiple times in the head.
Regennitter tried to grab the victim's wallet from his pocket and bit the other man in the arm when a struggle ensued, police said. Police said Regennitter pulled a knife on the victim and threatened him.
The victim fled the apartment and when he returned, he found that Regennitter had taken a $100 bill from the living room, police said. The victim suffered injuries to his arm and face in the scuffle, police said.
According to criminal complaints filed earlier this week, Regennitter returned to the victim's apartment around 3 a.m. on March 26 and was joined by 20-year-old Taylin J. Anderson and 22-year-old Nico A. Johnson-Williams. Police said an occupant of the apartment was threatened with a gun and items were stolen from his residence.
Regennitter, Anderson and Johnson-Williams were arrested earlier this week in connection with the March 26 robbery. Anderson and Johnson-Williams also face charges in connection with a March 25 robbery on South Van Buren Street.
All told, Regennitter faces two counts of first-degree robbery and one count of first-degree burglary. Anderson and Johnson-Williams each face two counts of first-degree robbery and first-degree burglary. Both offenses are Class B felonies punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
