JOHNSON COUNTY - No foul play is suspected in the death of a homeless man whose body was found in the Iowa River last week.
The sheriff's office pulled a body out of the Iowa River south of Iowa City on June 17 after it was spotted in a brush pile. Johnson County Sheriff Lonny Pulkrabek said at the time the body had been in the river for some time.
On Tuesday, the sheriff's office announced the body had been identified as 41-year-old Shawn L. Warrington, a homeless man who had most recently lived in the Iowa City area. Warrington also spent time in Davenport and Galesburg, Ill., police said.
The manner of Warrington's death has not been determined, but authorities said foul play is not suspected. Warrington's death is still under investigation.
