CORALVILLE — A Nebraska man faces a robbery charge after pulling a knife on a man who wouldn't give him a cigarette.
According to Coralville police criminal complaints, officers were dispatched to the Heartland Inn in Coralville around 7:20 p.m. Sunday for a report of a subject that had attacked another subject with a knife. When police arrived, the victim identified 27-year-old Duop T. Tut, of Grand Island, Neb., as the person who pulled the knife on him.
Police said Tut displayed the knife and 'thrust' it at the victim because the other man would not give him a cigarette. Tut pulled out the knife in front of the officer and asked the victim if he was afraid of it, police said.
Tut smelled strongly of alcohol and admitted to being drunk, police said. He was arrested and faces charges of first-degree robbery, a Class B felony, and public intoxication, a simple misdemeanor.
