Cedar Rapids convenience store robbed

CEDAR RAPIDS - Cedar Rapids police are investigating a convenience store robbery.
According to public safety spokesman Greg Buelow, the Hawkeye Convenience Store, 1581 First Ave. SE, was robbed at 7:46 a.m. Friday. Police said a man believed to be in his mid-20s entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded cash. The suspect left the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. The man was wearing a Nike hoodie and jeans.
No one was injured during the robbery, police said.
Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call the Cedar Rapids Police Department at 286-5491 or Linn County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-CS-CRIME.
