CENTRAL CITY - A Missouri woman was hospitalized Friday when she crashed her motorcycle trying to avoid items that had fallen off the back of a truck.
The Linn County Sheriff's Office, Central City Fire Department and Center Point Ambulance Service were called to a personal injury crash on Highway 13 south of Millard Lane in Central City at 11:38 a.m. Friday. Responders discovered Crystal Baldwin, 52, of Wenzville, Mo., had lost control of her motorcycle while trying to navigate around debris that flew out of the back of a pickup.
Police said the pickup's driver, 25-year-old Mitchell Sutton, failed to property secure 'personal floatation devices” in the back of the truck.
Baldwin was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. She was taken to St. Luke's hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries. The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending, police said.
