University of Iowa police investigating attempted sexual assault

IOWA CITY - The University of Iowa Department of Public Safety is investigating a report of an attempted sexual assault.
According to UI Police, during the early morning hours of June 6, the alleged victim was walking in the area of Van Allen Hall and Biology Building East when the suspect - described as a college-aged white man with short brown hair and a medium build - attempted to sexually assault her. The victim fought off her attacker, who fled toward the Pedestrian Mall.
