CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids man faces a burglary charge for a break-in alleged to have occurred last week.
According to the Linn County Attorney's Office, on Friday, 28-year-old Stephen S. Reid broke into a home in the 400 block of 33rd Street NE. Authorities said Reid forced his way into the home through a basement window and stole the victim's cellphone.
The victim woke up during the burglary and saw Reid in her residence, the complaint states. Reid has a no contact order prohibiting him from being at the victim's residence.
Reid has been arrested and charged with second-degree burglary, a Class D felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
