Cedar Rapids man faces robbery charges

CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids man is accused of jumping a woman and stealing her cellphone.
According to a Linn County Attorney's Office criminal complaint, on Feb. 11, 18-year-old Leon Y. Sheley, Jr. got out of a vehicle and pushed a pedestrian to the ground. Sheley then stole the woman's cellphone, authorities said.
The alleged robbery happened in the 4500 block of Wenig Road NE and part of the incident was captured by Kennedy High School's surveillance video system, authorities said.
Sheley has been arrested and faces one count of second-degree robbery, a Class C felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
