Cedar Rapids man charged with meth possession in motel room

CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids man is accused of possessing meth in a motel room.
According to a Linn County Attorney's Office criminal complaint, police were called to Motel 6, 3325 Southgate Court SW, for a report of a potential meth lab in one of the rooms. Police searched the room in question and discovered meth, a prescription drug, needles, filters, cotton swabs and tin foil. The man in the room, 31-year-old Thomas R. Carlson, admitted the drugs and paraphernalia belonged to him.
Carlson has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a prescription drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.
