Man injured in motorcycle crash in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids man was injured when he crashed his motorcycle Friday morning.

According to the Linn County Sheriff's Office, deputies, along with the Iowa State Patrol, Area Ambulance and Atkins Fire Department responded to a report of a motorcycle in the ditch on Highway 30. First responders found the motorcycle and its rider in the ditch near the west bound ramp to 80th Street.

Authorities said the rider, 20-year-old Kobey R. Pohlman, lost control of his motorcycle and went into the ditch. He was wearing his helmet and taken to UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
